What You Should Know About Diagnostic Imaging During COVID-19

Alliance MRI: COVID-19 Mask

As the effects of the COVID-19 infection continues to unfold, Alliance MRI continues to prioritize the health and safety of our patients. We want to reassure you that Alliance MRI is here for you, working with your healthcare insurance to provide you with safe and high-quality medical imaging.

We are following the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the American College of Radiology (ACR) to evaluate the needs of our patients, staff, community, and healthcare providers.

COVID-19 is not like any infectious disease we have seen previously. Unlike occasional influenza and other regular infectious illnesses, COVID-19 is extremely contagious. Studies show that COVID-19 has a normal base reproduction pace of R3.28. This implies the normal infected individual will transmit the disease to three people. On the other hand, occasional influenza has a base reproduction pace of around R1.5.  Coronavirus is extremely infectious, and diagnostic imaging facilities like Alliance MRI are taking every precaution to protect our patients and staff.

How Alliance MRI is Helping to Stop the Spread of COVID-19

To best serve our community, here is what you can expect from us:

Effective Infection Control Program

The first step to fight COVID-19 is an effective infection control program. This includes sanitization strategies for surfaces, equipment, instruments, and patient touchpoints inside the facility. While it is difficult to keep up ideal cleaning in this situation, routinely cleaning and disinfecting touchpoints can limit the danger of spreading coronavirus. We disinfect singular patient test rooms, including all furniture, counters, drawers, seating, and equipment. Please refer to the CDC guide for best practices in environmental cleaning in healthcare facilities.

Patients and Staff Required to Wear Masks

All employees will wear the facility provided medical masks. All patients are required to wear a mask before entering the building.

Patients Only in All Areas

Just patients are permitted into the room at the hour of their appointment. No additional guests allowed, please.

Worker Screening

Workers are required to remain at home if sick and are screened every day for symptoms. They are required to self-isolate for14-days if coming back from any plane travel or if they show any symptoms.

Social Distancing

In commitment to the social distancing guidelines, we will continue to limit the number of patients scheduled for appointments.

Alliance MRI Message

We encourage you and your loved ones to continue to take these simple, protective steps:

  • Wash your hands with soap for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
  • Cough into your elbow, not your hands, or use a tissue to prevent the spread of germs.
  • Avoid touching your face – especially your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • If you are sick, please stay home.

COVID-19 has made this a challenging time to get clear information but know that Alliance MRI is prioritizing safety and is available for any questions you have. Thank you for your continued cooperation with the health and safety of our community. As conditions continue to change, we will keep you informed.
